Irish Breakfast
Irish Breakfast
Known as the best tea to combat the grey days associated with winters in Ireland. This premium loose leaf tea is sure to become your favorite afternoon delight. Well worth the extra time it will take to froth some milk and make it into a latte.
Note on Brewing: Whatever the method of brewing you decide to use to enjoy this black tea, always use freshly boiled water. This will give you the best and most consistent results, as the oxygen available to bind with the tea is at its highest level after the first boil.
Traditional Method of Preparation: Measure 3-5 grams or approximately 1 tsp of loose tea and add to one of our tea filter bags or for best results, add the tea to our Perfect Steeper. Add 8-12 oz of fresh water that has been heated to 190 F and steep for 3-5 minutes. (Our preference is to use 4 grams for 3 minutes.)
Iced Black Tea Preparation:
Cold Brew (Our Favorite): Measure 5 grams or approximately 1 tsp of loose tea and add to your vessel of choice. Add 12 oz of fresh water. Place in refrigerator for 8 hours. Strain to serve. Makes the smoothest cup with the least amount of tannins! Try for yourself and see the difference!
Flash Chilling:
Step 1, Create Concentrate. Measure 5 grams or approximately 1 tsp of loose tea and add to one of our tea filter bags or for best results, add the tea to our Perfect Steeper. Add 6 oz of fresh water that has been heated to 190 F and steep for 4 minutes.
Step 2, Flash Chill. Place finished tea in freezer for 10 minutes or pour slowly over ice in a 12-16 oz cup.
Traditional: Measure 3-5 grams or approximately 1 tsp of loose tea and add to one of our tea filter bags or for best results, add the tea to our Perfect Steeper. Add 8-12 oz of fresh water that has been heated to 190 F and steep for 5 minutes. Store in refrigerator for 3 hours and serve. Shelf life is up to three days.
Café Method: Create Concentrate. Measure 5 grams or approximately 1 tsp of loose tea for every 12oz serving and add to a large strainer or use one of our tea filter bags for every 5 grams of tea. Add 6 oz of fresh water (for every serving) that has been heated to 190 F and steep for 5 minutes. Remove leaves and store in refrigerator overnight. Ready to serve over ice for the next day. Ideally use full 16 oz. glass of ice and dilute with water to taste.
Dublin Fog: This black tea latte is very different from its cousin, London Fog, which is the most iconic of all tea lattes. Using a unique blend of four base black teas, we are able to establish bold tannins to provide you with a tasting experience similar to that of an award-winning London Fog, but with less citrus and more dark fruits.
Hot Black Tea Latte Preparation: Measure 5 grams or approximately 1 tsp of loose tea and add to one of our tea filter bags or for best results, add the tea to our Perfect Steeper. Steep in 4-6 oz freshly boiled (190 F) water for 4 minutes. Add hot steamed milk of your choice.
